Walking in Kolkota

There’s an amazing article in the NYTimes’ Travel section titled “A Walk in Calcutta.” A very good friend of mine forwarded it to me knowing that I would be mesmerized by the way the writer creates pictures in your mind with his word choices and descriptions. It’s like taking a trip by reading what he lays out before you.

Although Kolkota is also known as the “dirty city” because of the extreme poverty, dirt, and grime, it’s also quite respected for the high quality and diverse modes of public transport–they even count on an excellent underground metro system.
